For the Vertical, 50K, 100K and 160K we allow up to 300 runners in each division. We allow up to 100 participants in our free Gletschi Kids Run. In the Fly division there is no limit.
What is included in your registration? All runners will receive a race t-shirt at check-in, unless you choose to donate your shirt to plant a tree. We will have well stocked aid stations throughout the race. All vertical, 50km and 100km finishers will receive a medal and all 100 mile finishers will receive a sub-24 antique silver or a Finisher antique brass buckle.
What about age group awards? We will have age group awards (18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) for the 50km, 100km and 160km and each overall male and female age group winner will receive a beautiful wooden age group award.
Will my name be on my bib?We will print your name and the flag of your nationality on your race number, but you must register before August 1st.
How will you track the runners? Each runner (except Vertical and Kids Run) will receive a GPS tracker that must be worn at all times. This will allow us to know the exact location of each runner at all times. Family and friends will be able to track their runners with a special app. See the tracking page for more information.
What is the course upgrade/downgrade policy? If you are already registered and would like to upgrade or downgrade your registration, you have until July 15 to do so. If you downgrade your registration, for example from the 160K to the 100K, we will not be able to refund the difference in registration fee. If you upgrade your registration, for example from the 50km to the 100km, we will charge you the difference. Runners will not be able to change their race distance after July 15th - no exceptions!
What is your refund policy? We do not offer refunds. We do not defer the entry to the following year.
What is your pregnancy entry deferral policy?Any woman who is or becomes pregnant between the time she registers for the race and the start of the race or has recently given birth or is breastfeeding may request a race entry deferral to up to 2 years.
In order to receive a pregnancy deferral, a female racer must provide written confirmation of pregnancy signed by a physician, certified nurse midwife or other medical professional, or proof of birth to rd@swissalps100.com. The race reserves the right to request additional proof of pregnancy or birth and may deny a deferral request if the documentation provided is deemed insufficient. This deferral is not available to the partner of someone who is pregnant.
What are the eligibility requirements for the Swiss Alps 100?We do not require a medical certificate from our runners to participate in the Swiss Alps 100.
What about insurance?Evacuation by helicopter is not free in Switzerland and in 2019 we had to evacuate one runner which cost him CHF 7,000. The decision to evacuate an injured runner is made by the race organization. For this reason, we strongly recommend that every runner has personal accident insurance that covers the costs of search and rescue in Switzerland. The insurance must be valid for at least the duration of the race.
